Impact

Guided by Lived Experience, Powered by Community

At JJS-Kenya, our mission is rooted in survival, resilience, and transformation. Founded by a survivor, we believe in putting lived experience at the center of anti-trafficking solutions. Here’s how we’re making a difference across Kenya and beyond

Stories of Change

Jimmy Paul, JJS Community Member
“Through JJS, I got to visit a training school in Githurai I never even knew existed. Listening to real human trafficking stories—it felt like a movie, I never thought human trafficking was real until I heard it firsthand.”
Philip, Survivor Advocate & Community Leader
“As a survivor of human trafficking and modern slavery from Kiambu, I now use my lived experience to empower others and push for real change. At JJS-Kenya, I coordinated community outreach, led capacity-building workshops, and advocated for safer migration systems. What once broke me has become my strongest tool for impact.”
Quan,Survivor Advocate
“JJS is the organisation that supported me both before and after I returned to Kenya, especially mentally. JJS connected me with opportunities and referred me to another organization that helped them grow in different ways. JJS is a safe space.”
Sophia Amimo, Rights Advocate, Founder & Director , Domestic Worker Returness of Kenya (DWRoK)
“Only when you see the outcome of a thousand miles that began with a single step do you truly understand the journey. That’s what JJS represents—the spirit of hope and a vision for a brighter future.”

Our reach? Over 15,000 online engagements and counting!

The Power of Story: Our Documentary

In 2024, we launched our first community documentary, featuring survivors from across Kenya. Through raw, powerful storytelling, it:

  • Sheds light on the realities of trafficking, domestic servitude, and GBV

  • Celebrates the strength and agency of survivors

  • Promotes survivor-led solutions to prevent future exploitation

Educates communities, policymakers, and youth

Educating the Next Generation

We believe change starts early. Through our school and children’s home outreach, we:

  • Talk with teens about trafficking risks, online safety, and fake job agents

  • Host creative sessions using art, storytelling, sports, and drama

  • Train school staff on how to identify and respond to trafficking and GBV risks

Partner with local child protection officers and caregivers
